Welcome to Jasper Colorado

JASPER_edited.jpg

Founded in 1981 by developer Luke Anthony, Jasper is a community subdivision located in the heart of the San Juan Mountains and in the south of Del Norte County, Colorado.  The area is located up in the Alamosa Valley, just below where the Alamosa River makes a great sweep around the northern base of Cornwall Mountain. Jasper is accessible by taking Forest Service Road 250 near Monte Vista, Colorado continuing up Alamosa Canyon following the Alamosa River.

The community is managed by the Jasper Association, Inc.  This group of land owners oversee the maintenance of common properties and roads as well as the general operations of the community of Jasper. The Association elects a volunteer Board of Directors that is tasked with ensuring financial well being of the Association as well as creating and enforcing policies to maintain the quality of life within Jasper. The Association employs a Caretaker who monitors the land and cabins and a Bookkeeper who assists the Board.

At last count, there are over 80 cabins with more being built each year.  The elevation of the Jasper is right around 9100 feet (2775 meters). The area has been classified as a Near Ghost Town. Please be sure to review information on the history tab to learn more about the mines and area known as Jasper.
